Surface Finishing
Finishing processes that are applied in house by JBL.

We offer a subcontract service to surface finish our customers own components.

COLOUR ANODISING
Decorative anodising on aluminium in satin silver, black and various colours.
Colour anodised lettering and graphics (Aluprint) a speciality.
Maximum component size: 1250mm x 650mm x 600mm.
Sheet material 1250mm x 700mm.
Maximum weight: 50 kg.
Anodising is a very hard durable coating for aluminium which can be permanantly
dyed with a range of colours to produce multi coloured graphics on silver or coloured
backgrounds. Anodised coatings are not good electrical conductors, when used as a
surface finish on control & instument facias we can mask areas for earthing if required.
These areas can also be Alochromed if required.
ALOCHROME
Alochrome 1000 and 1200
Corrosion protective coating applied to aluminium prior to painting. Also used on
control & instrument facias without painting, especially rack mounted enclosure parts, due to its
good electrical conductive properties, however it is a very soft coating & can easily be
marked.
Maximum component size: 1250mm x 650mm x 600mm.
Sheet material 1250mm x 700mm.
Maximum weight: 50 kg

SurTec 650
Hexavalant chrome free corrosion protective coating with similar properties to Alochome but without Cr(VI).
DULL POLISH / GROUND FINISH
Grained finish on stainless steel, aluminium & brass panels to give a range of
professional effects.
Maximum component size: 600mm wide x 150mm high x  any length over 250mm
(Grain running lengthways).

Mirror polish on stainless steel & brass
BEAD BLASTING
Satin finish
STOVING ENAMEL / LACQUER FINISH


VIBRO POLISH

Used mainly on batches of small components to deburr & radius edges & corners
